of the future as a promised land" We the Business Community of Hastings and Rother, are very proud of our beautiful countryside and the glorious heritage that lies within. No less is the pride that we take in our magnificent coastline and its maritime history that helped forge the nation that we are today. This corner of England that has come to be known as 1066 Country also aspires to a future that will rival our imperious past, a future in which we invite you to join us. As our country approaches the celebration of the next Olympiad, we in 1066 Country seek to join this journey and to participate in the tremendous legacy that the events of twenty twelve will surely produce. Our strategy is to create a composite image of Hastings and Rother bringing together all of our past, our natural environment, our facilities for health and education, our amenities for sport and leisure, our cultural heritage, our industry and commerce, and of course the opportunities for new businesses to join us and to prosper. From this day forward we invite all businesses in 1066 Country to join us in this unique vision that we are building and together we will create an environment that is unrivalled in opportunity. As part of our strategy a small team has already been formed who are actively identifying any barriers to our success, bringing pressure to bear on aspects of our towns that could hold us back, and working with the forces that control everything from our civic amenities to our transport infrastructure. We have chosen the time frame of the London Olympics and the years either side as a focus for business opportunity. With the eyes of the world upon us the UK and especially 1066 Country will be a shop window for all that is attractive in our nation. We must grasp this once in a lifetime opportunity, declare to the whole world what we have to offer, and invite their investment in a future that will allow us all to prosper and flourish. |
